1.5 WHAT IS DATELOG 1.5 WHAT IS DATELOG
DATELOG is a utility to DATE stamp and ARCHIVE your OPUS.LOG, or DATELOG
ANY log. The log format and/or name can be from ANY BBS program.
DATELOG does not care about the name or format. It treats it like a DATELOG
normal filespec for processing.

2.1 USAGE AND COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS 2.1 USAGE AND COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS
The program uses command line parameters for date and archive
processing. The command line syntax is as follows:
DATELOG <-B> <-ILOG.NAME> <-J> <-M> <-AARCHIVE.EXT> DATELOG
Where:
DATELOG The program name. DATELOG
-B Use BIOS for video screen writes. -B
-ILOG.NAME Name of your log to process. -ILOG.NAME
-J Use Julian Dates. LOG.DDD; where DDD is the -J
current day of the year.
Default format is LOGDDDDD.DDD; where DDDDD.DDD is
the current date with separators missing.
-M Redate log file 1 day EARLIER. Use this switch if -M
you run you house cleaning/log processing just
after midnight.
Default format is use current date.
-AARCHIVE.EXT Archive name to insert LOG.NAME into. DATELOG -AARCHIVE.EXT DATELOG
will pick up on the archive extension to call the
correct archiver. These archivers need to be in
the current directory or in the DOS path so
DATELOG can find them. This is a list of the DATELOG
current archivers supported:
ARC, PKZIP, PAK, ZOO, DWC, LHA & ARJ
2.2 EXAMPLE
DATELOG -B -IC:\OPUS\OPUS.LOG -J -M -AC:\OPUS\LOG91.PAK DATELOG
The above example will use BIOS screens writes, rename opus.log
to log.DDD (DDD is current day of year minus 1) and execute Pak and
move the log.DDD into Log91.pak. This process will take about 1
second longer than the archive process.
